About Barbara

I have taught in the Baltimore City Public School System for 29 years. I worked in the area of special education. The joy I received seeing the growth and eagerness of the students to learn is beyond explanation. I get so much pleasure seeing them achieve a goal. They all felt like my children. I tutored for the home and hospital for 12 years. I felt a need to also help those children who could not physically be in a classroom but needed to continue with their studies so that they would not fall behind in school. In addition I was an Instructional Associate who was a team leader for the child study team. We were responsible for testing and deciding placement for students with special needs.
