About Barbara

Hi there! My name is JoAnn and I just wrapped up my first year as a graduate student at UW. I'm working towards obtaining my masters in social work and will be specializing in clinical social work with the aim to work as a child therapist. Most of my experience working with children has been in an academic setting to support their goals. I have over three years of experience in jobs that have allowed me to create a safe, fun, and educational environment where children can thrive. I believe in open and honest communication with parents and follow their preferred method of contact to discuss their child's day and address any concerns. I am certified in CPR and First Aid, and am comfortable caring for multiple children at once. I am also bilingual in English and Spanish, and have a car, so I can provide transportation if needed.
