About Barbara

Comfortably empowering students to gain new skills is at the heart of my teaching practice. I lived in Cancun Mexico for 13 years where I successfully taught English to native Spanish speakers. My core philosophy centers on building confidence and fostering a genuine love for learning in a relaxing positive environment. I assess your child's learning style through active observation, tailoring my methods--whether through visual aids, discussions, or hands-on activities, and fun games to support specific needs. I keep sessions engaging by connecting challenging concepts to personal interests and celebrating every small success along the way. I believe clear communication is the foundation of a collaborative partnership between tutor, student, and family. Seeing children happy and building concepts such as vocabulary and reading skills is the most rewarding part of my work.
