I stopped my everything to care for my mom during Covid 19. She had dementia and would not have thrived during this period. I made all of her appointments, from hair care to doctor appointments. I took her to all of her appointments. I kept up with all of her medications and made sure she got them when she was to take them. I bathed her, fed her, changed her clothes, fixed her hair, and applied her makeup when needed. I did everything for her that she needed. I understand how difficult this job is and how important it is for the family member to have some help with this job. I did not get a lot of help with my mom because of Covid. My mom had a laundry list of health problems, and she needed a lot of help. This was one of the hardest and most rewarding experiences I've ever had. It would have been much better if I had had help.
