About Avery

Hello my name is Avery! I'm a college student who is passionate about teaching, childcare, and science. I've been in the childcare space since I was an early teen, and within the last few years I worked for Champions (an accredited before/afterschool program and preschool), and with many families, with children ranging from 5 months to 12 years of age. I've additionally worked with kids who have physical disabilities, neurodivergence, and learning disabilities. These jobs have allowed me to gain experience in supporting and disciplining kids using gentle methods, responsive caregiving, engaging activities, and teaching emotional regulation. My most important qualities include being compassionate and respectful to all individuals, regardless of age. I do my best to maintain every child's dignity, and autonomy, so that they feel they are in a safe and secure environment.
