About Avery

I am a NYC DOE Public School General Education and English as a Second Language teacher, with 8 years of experience working in schools, from grades Pre-K3 to 6th grade. I am certified in Childhood Education, and have also worked in Early Childhood Education, as well as Music Education. Outside of being a teacher, I've worked as a nanny and a tutor for many different families in Manhattan and Brooklyn, as well as for two families in Upstate New York. I am trained in several different curriculums for various subjects. For math, I have experience teaching GoMath, EnVision Math, Eureka Math, and Engage New York. For ELA and Phonics, I am trained to teach Fundations, Orton-Gillingham, Heggerty, ReadyGEN, and Teacher's College. I am very confident in my ability to tutor all children, regardless of age or starting point, to help them progress towards full understanding and grade level comprehension.
