About Averee

I have been a babysitter since age 11, and as a teen, I spent most summers as a full-time sitter for my neighbors in Iowa. In college, I worked for a sitter service in Des Moines, providing care to several families. As a master's student in the UK, I nannied for a family with two young girls. Currently, I work as an environmental educator teaching children of all ages short science lessons and activities in schools in Philly and Camden. I am currently a Ph. D. candidate studying Cultural and Environmental Anthropology. Prior to Covid, I conducted fieldwork studying nocturnal primates in west-central Africa. I have a great passion for animals, the environment, and getting kids connected to nature. I love helping children learn, explore, and grow their curiosity about the world they live in! I also don't mind cleaning and tidying- I believe you should always leave a place cleaner than you found it. :)
