About Austin

I'd describe my personality as organized, kind, and compassionate. I like working with animals because I am a ferret and dog mom. I have volunteered in animal shelters for several years. I'm looking for a job that can help supplement my income as a graduate student, while also giving me more time to spend with animals. I started working with animals when I was given a dog when I was 2 and have been an animal lover since then. At age 13, I adopted ferrets and have been a ferret mom since then. In my spare time, I love to hike, camp, and backpack. One thing you should know about me is that I am incredibly reliable and have a strong work ethic. My skills include distributing medication with experience in a variety of methods (syringe, needle implant, gel injection, etc), matching my energy to the needs of the pet (slow, leisurely walks for older dogs, high energy play sessions with puppies, etc), and comfort with small animals such as ferrets, guinea pigs and hamsters.
