About Ashley

Hello! My name is Ashley and I am a NYS certified and licensed NYC DOE teacher. I have taught for the NYC DOE for 4 years. I have experience teaching all ages, and am licensed in all grades PreK-12. Additionally, I have experience and training working with college students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, as I have worked at the Hunter College Reading and Writing Center. Furthermore, I have experience and have been trained in using Lindamood-Bell strategies for improving reading skills such as reading comprehension and decoding as I have worked at the Lindamood-Bell Learning Center in midtown Manhattan. I absolutely adore teaching literacy skills and know all students can learn, improve and grow academically. I believe literacy skills are life skills. I approach learning, no matter each student's current level, with patience and understanding. There are so many approaches and strategies that can be used for supporting student growth.
