About Ash

Hi! I'm a Physical Education teacher in Portland Public Schools looking for part time work. This past year, my dad was diagnosed with brain cancer and ended up having strokes from surgery complications. My dad went from being able bodied, to disabled in the blink of an eye. As a result of this circumstance, my family became his full time caregiver. This has lead me to gain some experience working with people with cognitive and physical disabilities as well as a greater empathy, understanding, and appreciation for my own abilities. I have experience working with school age students of various cognitive and physical abilities and I'd love to work with this underserved community in need. I don't have in depth experience, but I do have great compassion and a willingness to help and learn as needed.
