About Artra

Greetings, My name is Artra B and I am currently the ELA Master and 8th grade ELA teacher. I am elated to take on this new responsibility as it gives me the best of both worlds. I am able to continue to teach what I love and further share my expertise beyond the classroom by taking a collaborative approach to coaching the other ELA teachers in best practices . It is such a wonderful experience. I have been teaching in and around metro Detroit for the last 13 years. Most of my experience has been in high school. I believe that this alone, gives me an advantage teaching your children because I know exactly what my students need to be successful in middle school and beyond. I received my bachelors degree in secondary education (6-12) with an emphasis in English and Health from Wayne State University. I obtained my Masters degree from Saginaw Valley State in Educational Leadership. My passion is to continue working with inner youth to ensure that they reach their goals.
