I became a full time nanny after having raised two children of my own. My child care journey began seven and a half years ago in Alabama where I cared for two girls, aged 5 and 9 whose parents were full time medical professionals. This rewarding experience was cut short by relocation to Virginia six years ago, and since moving to the local area I have cared for many children but primarily infants and toddlers.

I am the oldest of four children, and grew up on a farm in North Wales, UK. I then lived in the Far East before settling in the United States, and the variety of cultures that this exposed me to was a thoroughly enjoyable and culturally enriching time for me, which I feel privileged to have been part of. I have always tried to pass on the best of these values and experiences not only to my own children but also to those in my care.

Anthea is fantastic. She has looked after our toddler and baby and has always been professional and punctual. She finds ways to teach our children and plays with them the entire time. Our kids love her and I feel very safe leaving my little ones in her care.

It was a pleasure having Anthea in our home. The two children (3 and 6) enjoyed e.g. playing games with her, doing school work and cooking/ baking. They always asked if she was gonna come that day or not. We were especially appreciative of her suggestions and help on behavioral and child development topics. Both children are foster children that had just moved in with us when she started. They benefited from her structure, that she enforced the rules in our home as needed and they made huge improvements with regards to their manners. 
Anthea works very independently and finds solutions without interrupting our work much (my wife and I often both work from home). She learned quickly how to use the school's virtual learning platform and was always on top of virtual meetings and assignment deadlines.  

She shows flexibility in her working hours but prefers to work half days and during the week rather than on weekends.

We have now known her for over 3 years, during which time, she has worked part time and full time. Our family has ever changing schedules and she has always been very flexible, over the past year we hired her on a retaining basis to help our family with changing schedules. 

She is wonderful with our children, engaging, friendly and fun. Our two girls, age 3 and 6, are always excited when she returns.  
She seamlessly fits into out schedule, comfortable with all activities pertaining to the girls including transport to and from activities/school, park outings, school work, cooking, laundry. 
I do not have to worry when she is with the girls and am very grateful that she is a part of our life - we would definitely recommend her!

Anthea has been our family's part time nanny for the past 2.5 years and I cannot say enough wonderful things about her.  Anthea is reliable, engaged, fun-loving and creative with the children, and has been an absolute life-saver with the demands our crazy work hours. 
     My daughters are 1 and 4 and consider Anthea part of the family.  It is a huge relief to not have to worry when Anthea is caring for my kids.  She is always punctual and it is clear that Anthea's primary concern is the safety, care, and happiness of the kids.  My girls are always excited when Anthea is coming to care for them, and look forward to the 2 days a week she nannies.  We are incredibly grateful to have found Anthea on care.com and for the love, laughs, and care she has given our kids.  Despite having to give up our regular nanny hours with Anthea due to changing childcare needs, we hope she continues as a regular babysitter because she is absolutely the best!

Anthea started caring for my son when he was 8 weeks old. She held him while he slept and then made him laugh during diaper changes. Anthea takes initiative to help out with household tidying, organizing, and planning. She also takes care of my daughter, being sure to have her snack ready when she gets off the bus, helps her with homework, and plays games with her. She is a gem and I will miss her!

Anthea is reliable and interactive with our children. She plays games and keeps them entertained. She also does a fabulous job with sick childcare. She is thoughtful, knowledgeable, and one of the best caregivers we have ever had.

Anthea is hands-down the best caregiver we have ever had. I give her the highest recommendation. She is kind, patient, intuitive, helpful in so many ways, and blends in well with our family. We immensely enjoy having her around, and she is such amazing support to our family, kids, and household. She helps keep us together and keep the ship running, so to speak. My children love her and always benefit from her peaceful presence in our home.

Anthea is great! She has babysat my daughter at the very young age of 12 weeks. She's a natural and her passion for children clearly shows. I would  recommend her to all families looking for childcare. 

Anthea is a kind, wonderful person. She contacted me very fast and she came to meet my family before we made a decision which already said a lot about her. My 2 year old loved her and was very comfortable with her when she looked after her. She met all of our expectations above and beyond.
