Anne cared for our son about 40 hours/week from the time he was 4 months old to the time he was 1 year old. She was wonderful, and we wish she could continue caring for him much longer, but she is getting remarried and moving out of state. Anne truly loves our son, and he loves her. He runs to the door in the morning when she comes, and is sad when she leaves. She shows her love in many ways, from snuggling with him, to talking with him all the time, to smiling and laughing with him. Our son has a happy disposition, smiles all the time and is very social for his age, partly because of the love and feeling of security Anne provided. Anne took good care of our son's basic needs. She cooked and fed our son the wide variety of healthy foods we requested, and helped teach him to feed himself. She taught him to use a spoon without us even asking. She laughed about the huge messes that he made in the initial attempts and sent pictures that made us laugh too. She kept D. well-rested, and did the minor housework we requested while he slept. She gave him extra care and love when he was sick and informed us of any health-related observations from the day.If she had extra time, she'd sometimes do extra cleaning that we hadn't even requested. She also did enriching activities with our son. She read to him often and went to the library frequently to get new books. She sang and made music with him, sometimes with kid-targeted CDs she'd gotten from the library. She often got a book or CD for D. that she knew would be special to Mom or Dad. She took him to different parks, the local farm, different library story times, and a music class. She set up a few play dates with people she met. Anne is a native English speaker who's comfortable with text and email, which made communication easy. She sent several texts a day with update and pictures, sending particularly special ones to grandparents as well. She was punctual and reliable for us. She has a down-to-earth, simple approach to life, which was a good fit for our family. We never worried about our son with Anne. We knew he was in safe, loving, and responsible hands. We will miss her!
