About Annaliese

With 13 years of private piano lessons, 6 years as a violinist, and 3 years taking private cello lessons while playing in Symphony Orchestra, I love to learn about music (especially classical) and practice my instruments on a regular basis. Having taught beginner level piano for 2 years already, I enjoy teaching the fundamentals of piano and music theory to new students. These fundamental concepts include learning proper piano posture, the mechanics of the piano, basic to intermediate levels of music theory, and of course, applying all of these concepts to read and play music! At lessons, I typically teach these skills through analogies to provide an alternative way of understanding and make new information more personal and easier to access to the student. While all of my current students are in elementary or middle school, I am happy to teach beginner piano to anyone regardless of age- after all, music should be enjoyed by everyone!
