About Anika

I have been working with kids since 2015 in a variety of contexts, ranging from volunteering with reading and childcare at a library to nannying. I have been a teaching intern, assisting in both math and literacy, as well as a swim instructor, working with children grades K-3; a tutor in art and history to middle schoolers; and a nanny during the height of Covid. When nannying or babysitting, I still integrate education and creativity into my caretaking, using my time to help children build and utilize skills based on their level of development. The most important values I have are compassion, communication, and creativity. I like to help the kids I work with to learn to see other perspectives, express their thoughts and feelings, and to learn to see beauty and magic in the world whether it's through stories, art, or creative play. I will always approach a situation with those values, and I teach them to the kids I work with as well.
