I have had two caregiver positions that I enjoyed very much. I took care of a lady that was in a wheel chair who had dementia, Parkinson's disease, and lung cancer. She was a wonderful loving person who just wanted to be loved and cared for. I took care of her until she passed away. I also took care of her daughter who has Parkinson's disease, some dementia, mantle cell lymphoma. She is in a wheel chair now. She was given 60 days to live in 2001 and is still living. She is living with her daughter in Wilmington, NC now. She was the strongest person I believe I have ever met. I cooked, cleaned, washed their clothes, and changed their bedding. I took them to their doctor appointments, shopping, picked up their medicine, took them for walks, read books to them, played cards and board games with them, put puzzles together with them, gave them their medicine, took them out to eat and shopping . I also worked at childcare for six years with age children from 6 weeks old to 5 yrs old.
