About Andrew

Hello all, My name is Andrew, 30 years old, originally from Kentucky but now living in Brooklyn while working as a freelance writer. Children are imaginative, dynamic and a wonder to work with! I am looking for tutoring or sitting work of all types. A bit regarding my educational credentials. I taught college undergraduates while earning my MA and PhD in History. My students went on to study at Columbia, NYU, Fordham, University of Chicago, and Princeton University. I can teach all levels and areas of history. In addition, I can help with SAT prep and college applications. I believe in balancing expectations, giving positive reinforcement, and trying to play to the student's strengths. I have worked with children for a number of years. From running children's programming at my church when I was a teenager to spending three summers as a camp counselor/ life guard in overnight summer camps in Minnesota and Kentucky. Additionally, I am a proud uncle to five nieces and nephews.
