About Andrea

I have multiple years experience as a teacher and tutor for various ages, including general ed, special education, and English language learners. I've spent 2 years overseas teaching students from around the world. I have taught/tutored in pre-k through 6th grade, as well as in self-contained and life skills classrooms. When I was younger I was diagnosed with learning disabilities and struggled in school myself. I didn't think my teachers catered to my specific needs. As I began my teacher education program later on, I learned about learning styles, various philosophies, and approaches. My teaching style today: I learn about your child's strengths and weaknesses, their preference for learning/ type of learner, etc. When I apply it, I help the student use their strengths to improve weaknesses. In addition, I guide the student/child to learning about themselves and the way they learn best. This allows them to continue grow with more independence and confidence!
