About Amy

I'm passionate about helping my students build a sense of capability that will help them make writing papers, essays and other assignments more fun and less daunting. With years of experience tutoring children and adults, I focus on building their confidence and fostering in them a genuine love for words and writing. I actively listen to my students and adapt my teaching using visual aids, hands-on activities, and open discussions to suit each person's preferences and needs. What's more, I connect challenging topics to real-world examples, celebrate small successes, and break down complex problems into manageable pieces. My students (and their parents, if applicable) would tell you that I'm approachable, friendly and easy to talk to. I provide regular updates to parents of desired. I am available to tutor remotely or at various locations in Northeast DC.
