I am currently a Reading Specialist at Ogden Elementary School with over 10 years experience as a teacher and tutor. I specialize in elementary education (pre-k-5th) and special education. I have a Masters in Education and Reading and a second Masters in Educational Leadership & Law. I am trained in Wilson's Fundations & Orton Gillingham, both researched based programs proven to show growth in reading. My approach to tutoring is very data-driven and I always provide pre and post assessments, and multi-sensory lesson plans. To ensure that students have a structured learning environment outside of their home, I tutor in the common business center on the 9th floor at Grand Plaza in River North. It is my believe that all children learn differently and it is my passion to design individualized instruction to help your child learn & grow!

We are very happy that we hired Amy to help our second grade son with his reading and writing. She is professional, knowledgeable and patient. My son enjoys his time with her and we have seen an improvement in his confidence and his reading skills after only four sessions. We would definitely recommend her to other families.
