About Amy

Hi my name is Amy. I'm passionate about children feeling good about themselves in a safe and nurturing environment. I'm a retired Public School Teacher of 27 years. Children need positive reinforcement and motivation to help them with educational skills in the classroom. I've taught Special Education students from the primary grades and have written and implemented Individualized Educational Plans. My role as a Special Education teacher was to provide differentiated instruction following the academic curriculum content. Parent participation is essential in order to be able to give feedback to show students growth. Formal and informal assessments were given to students. It was challenging for the English Language Learners that had come from a variety of countries without any background knowledge. I've also taught second and third grade students. My BA Degree is in Elementary Education (k-8) and MA Moderate Special Education.
