About Amelia

I'm looking for a job in which I can personally connect with families, and foster children's innate love for learning. I have experience with every age group! I was a preschool teacher for 4 years and have worked with infants & toddlers, too. I have also completed 30 hours of ECE training in the past year, including Safe Sleep for Oregon's Infants. One thing you should know about me is that I lead with a gentle parenting approach- promoting clear & kind communication of boundaries, and natural consequences rather than punishment as a response to negative behaviors. I strive to understand what motivates your child, and connect before (and after) correcting behavior. My favorite part of working with kids is learning through literature! Children's books are powerful tools for social-emotional growth, STEAM learning, and connecting with caregivers, not to mention language development! Some of my current favorites include How to be a Cat by Nikki McClure, and anything by Sandra Boynton.
