All of my growing up years my maternal grandmother lived with us due to her need fro assisted living. From the time I was about 12 years old I could care for her basic needs from bathing, dressing, feeding, administering medication, including insulin shots, taking her blood sugar and assistance with toileting. I have many years experience from the years we had her with us. I believe that a lot of my maternal instincts have risen out of my caring for my grandmother all those years.
