Throughout my life I have both inherited and sought out the role of a caretaker, and I have become very practiced. My experience as a care provider has been extensive. As a child I grew up in a home with a disabled young woman, and was often charged with her care. I devoted much of my time to her enrichment, bathing, dressing, meal preparation, toileting and other such needs. I later went on to work with several advocacy agencies for disabled children and adults. Over the years I have also nannied semi long-term and babysat for children from infancy through pre-teens and have years of experience enjoying this. I even had the joy of helping a friend out for the first two weeks after her son was born. Health and wellness are important to me. Not just physical health, but emotional and spiritual. I have the awareness that how children are raised imprints on their personalities, attachment styles and self-esteem.
