About Amber

I'm a licensed educator with over 10 years of experience teaching children in K-5. I specialize in phonics and literacy using Orin Gilliam and Fundations, and I build strong reading comprehension skills through Benchmark and ReadWorks. My teaching style is creative and gamified, using task based instruction and fun rewards like stickers, pencils, temporary tattoos, and karaoke time to keep students motivated. Outside of school, I tutor elementary math, reading, and comprehension, bringing all materials directly to my clients' homes-families only need to provide a clear workspace. I also offer babysitting, house sitting, and pet sitting for families who need extra support.
