Experience: 7 yrs
I have always had a passion for taking care of younger children. I for one enjoyed being on baby duty while at family parties, played, changed diapers and did the feedings! I was in my early teens when I realized that this is something I really love doing! I have taken care of many babies/children of all ages. It's always a pleasure and so rewarding helping and watching them develop as they grow! Some experience/ milestones that I have helped achieve are as follows, but not limited to: Sleep training - nap time routines Basic sign language Rolling over Learning to sit up Crawling, walking Bottle feedings Eating solid foods Eating with silverware Potty training Sharing + playing with others Arts & crafts Table manners Learning to count/ alphabet Learning to get dressed I love what I do and a dream of mine is to open up my own daycare one day!

Amanda has been a part of our family since our son was 4 months old. She has been with us for over 2.5 years. She’s an incredible caregiver and someone whose true calling is working with children. She is detail oriented and warm, and has been trustworthy from day one. We have never worried about our son while he has been with her - including daily trips to the store, the zoo, pools and parks across LA and during weekend overnights. Her patience is unbelievable and she truly enjoys spending time talking, sharing experiences and engaging with children. She is as great with newborns as she is with toddlers. And she never gets flustered, impatient or loses the energy to keep up. From day one her connection with our son was iron clad and she spent time researching ways to help him as he hit developmental milestones. She’s been a guiding presence for us too, making sure she is sharing what works and what doesn’t. From the first days of lifting his head while getting tummy time, chewing solid food (she ensures he has well-balanced meals), signing, talking, walking and now doing complex playing and learning activities as he sets about getting ready for preschool - she has been there to provide him with a safe space to come into his own and also help guide him through new emotional and physical challenges. She’s been instrumental in working with him, encouraging him and showing him important boundaries. For example, at the park, she's not the type to sit on a bench on her phone. She is right with our son, playing with him and helping him through engaging/playing with others - but she also gives him space if he wants to be in his own world. We were extraordinarily lucky to find Amanda on Care.com. She’ll remain a part of our family and our son’s life going forward. 10/10; would hire again. She’s priceless and we couldn't give a higher recommendation.
