About Alyssa

My name is Alyssa & I'm an Elementary Education major looking for a summer job. I like to spend time with my family, go outside, bake, & craft. I also play piano, saxophone, & bassoon. I previously worked at a learning center for 2 1/2 years where I provided childcare & taught preschool. I worked with kids ages 6 weeks to 11 years. I had a variety of roles including running the after school program, assistant teacher for summer camp, lead teacher for the 2-year-old class, & floater. Skills I learned include: changing diapers, making bottles, food prep, writing play based learning lessons, & behavior management. I had kids in the age range of 3-11 in the same classroom, so I am confident working with many ages. I built lessons on what kids wanted to learn about, as I believe children should be an active participant in their learning.
