About Alyssa

From a young age I have been interested in caring for children. I was a frequent babysitter for family friends and cousins. I worked as a dance teacher for 6 years, teaching classes for children ages 3 to 15, and working one on one with the children. I also babysat several of these children on the weekends. I worked in a class for students with special needs, teaching dance, acting, and singing through a non-profit called Special Stars based out of Salisbury, MA. For 3 years I worked with students with special needs, such as Downs Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder, several being non-verbal (basic sign-language knowledge) and I feel comfortable working with children with intellectual disabilities. I feel comfortable caring for several children at a time. I am a current senior pre-med student at Quinnipiac University with plans of becoming an OBGYN and feel comfortable in my ability to care for children. I have completed a full EMT training and have certifications in CPR/first aid
