About Alyssa

My name is Alyssa and I am a junior at Purdue University Fort Wayne. I am currently seeking a degree in Secondary Education. I have been tutoring since high school. I went to Leo Jr./Sr. High School and graduated with honors and an above a 4. 0 GPA. I took majority of college level courses both my junior and senior year. I first started tutoring my sister. My sister has Pompe Disease, which is part of Muscular Dystrophy. All though her disease mostly physically impairs here, she also struggled to do focus and comprehend certain subjects in school, such as Math and English. I tutored her all through high school in both those subjects. Towards the end of high school, I started to tutor more of my classmates in my upper level math class as well as I did a lot of proofreading of papers for others. Tutoring has taught me so much and I love to be able to work one on one with someone and help them develop the confidence when completing work that they once thought they wouldn't get.
