Auntie Al here! Nannying is a part of my roster of gigs, which also includes urban planning and freelance art. Spunky, creative, and kind, I love creating joy in everyday domestic moments. Working in someone's most sacred place (their home) by helping it run smoothly (I love cleaning!) while caring for their most precious cargo (the littles and pets!) is something I consider to be a huge privilege. It's my mission to bring my unique Auntie Al energy so your home, children, and pets will be well cared for. Specializing in infant care, I am comfortable caring for several children at a time and welcome nanny share arrangements. Please note: while I have reliable personal transportation options, I do not own a car. Childcare arrangements where a family car is available might be considered under specific circumstances, but generally speaking: as a planner, I prefer public transport, and as an anxious driver, I'm not your gal!
Allyson was an incredible nanny during a major transition for our family. We had just moved back home, and Allyson stepped in to help care for our son on a part-time basis for about 6 months — her support made that period so much smoother for all of us. She was consistently punctual, and on the rare occasion she'd be running late, she always gave us a heads-up in advance. She was warm, easygoing, and easy to communicate with from day one. Allyson spent a lot of time down on the floor engaging with our son and brought such a great creative energy to their time together — she even taught him sign language, which was such a wonderful bonus. She was incredibly attentive to his needs: always making sure he was fed, his diaper was changed, and proactively keeping my wife and me in the loop on how his day went. On top of that, she was happy to help out with light chores around the house, which we really appreciated. By the time our son transitioned to daycare, he was so well prepared, and a lot of that is thanks to Allyson. She's highly collaborative, genuinely wants to stay aligned with parents, and is flexible and adaptable when things come up. We can't recommend Allyson highly enough and know she'd be an amazing addition to any family lucky enough to have her.
