About Allison
For the past 10 years I have nannied children between the ages of 3 months and 17 years. One of my nanny responsibilities has always been helping the children complete their school work and projects. Due to my natural love for teaching children, I took an independent study course where I helped first grade children read and do math in their classroom for a year. I have also volunteered at an elementary school helping children with their school work. Fortunately, I have access to great tutoring materials and knowledgeable resources, because my mother is a first grade teacher and my father is a school superintendent. My specialties are reading, writing, and math. I also took Spanish for five years and Latin for 3 years, so tutoring in those areas is an unexplored possibility. There really is nothing more rewarding than seeing a child improve his/her skill and build confidence.
