About Alison

I started working with kids when I was 14 as a babysitter. I played imaginary games, ran around outside, watched movies, made dinner, and read bedtime stories. I kept the house tidy and did the dishes. My goal was for the kids to have fun and feel safe and the parents to come home to a clean and quiet house. I've also nannied three kids for a summer when I was 18. Currently I'm a general school assistant and basketball coach. I work with all ages from 4 to 17. I give one-on-one classroom instruction as well as assist teachers with lesson prep. I monitor recess and lunch so I am well versed in conflict management. I lead with authority and listen to the needs of the kids. Children are magic. They have bright imaginations and dream boldly. They push the limits and have fun while doing it. Caring for children isn't about ordering them around and making demands, but showing them how to care for themselves and others while teaching the discipline needed to lead happy and healthy lives.
