About Alexis

I am currently working as an English Teacher Assistant/Paraprofessional at a High School. I work with sophomore students with various backgrounds and learning abilities both inside the classroom and in after-school tutoring. I help students with reading comprehension, writing, grammar, and anything else related to writing! I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology, with a Minor in Philosophy from the University of Arizona. Though those two fields don't seem like they have anything to do with writing, they are both writing-intensive and require lots of reading, research, and developing written arguments or essays. I also enjoy reading and writing ( I have had my pieces of my writing published online and in books and anthologies). My approach is to try various methods of teaching the material until we find the way(s) that work best. Every student is different so it's important that we take an individualized approach.
