About Alexandra

Before moving to the United States I worked at a nursing home specialized in dementia and other mental health issues. Having an MBA , I was hired as the director's executive assistant and focused on office work. I was deeply affected seeing all patients just sitting or pacing around in the community room, all day, with little to no interaction among themselves or with stressed personnel and caregivers. I obtained the green light to spend time with 35 patients in the afternoons playing games, reading to them, painting and, more importantly, just listening to their stories and getting to know them in a way no one had time for. My passion for compassionate care of the elderly was ignited, and there was no turning back. After moving to California I took the opportunity to study gerontology at Foothill College in Los Altos and volunteered in nursing homes or private settings. My main focus is to fill someone's life with a friendly and sincere companionship. References available.
