Hi. My name is Airrell and I recently graduated from UCSD. I completed a program where I was able to get my veterinary assistant license. This was a 10 week program that met on Saturdays to teach me material so that I could become a registered Vet Assistant. Each week we covered different topics and had hands on lab experience after lecture each week. We covered general animal and medical terminology, handling and restraint, sanitation and disease control, animal nutrition, sterile technique, medical records, client communications, rabbits, reptiles and more. In lab we covered dog and cat restraint, physical exams/ bandaging, radiology/ positioning, fecal exams, surgical packs/ surgical prep and more. I am taking a gap year before I head to veterinary school to continue to learn about my passion, taking care of animals. Although I have no prior paid experience, I have volunteered a multiple pet clinics under veterinarians and am capable to care for your pet.
