About Adena

I am an extremely organized, efficient, and reliable individual with 10 years of experience as a Montessori preschool teacher (and head of school) for children between the ages of 2. 5 and 6. My Montessori certification is through the American Montessori Society, and I also have a master's degree in Education from the University of Washington. I am the mother of two sweet and spunky girls, aged 3 and 6. I believe that children thrive in an environment where they are provided reasonable and consistent expectations from adults. When ground rules and routines are established, children know what to expect from the adults in their lives, and can thrive in an environment of learning and respect. I love to help children to develop confidence in all that they do, whether it be academic work or practical life lessons. I also have a passion for teaching children about the natural world, and love to share my knowledge of mammals, birds, bugs, plants, rocks, and so much more.
