About Abigail

I've always had jobs working with kids since I was just a kid myself. Aside from babysitting as a teenager, I taught dance to pre-schoolers up to middle school age for almost 10 years, taught swim lessons, and worked in my local church nursery for 3 years. I pursued an undergraduate in Architectural Studies at the UOU and masters degree in architecture at RISOD. Doing RISD's art teaching program I volunteered for a program for young kids to learn about design and the built environment. I wrote and co-taught a course to a select group of all-girls high schoolers. It was a rigorous course but we always had so much fun. I love getting to be a mentor and I love when kids are excited about their surroundings. My husband describes my personality as confident, calm and silly. I love to make things in my free time. I especially love to cook and bake, but I also love to sew and make patterns. I love to be outside and am energized by my surroundings.
