Although I have no paid experience, I have volunteer experience with individuals who have special needs. My experience has ranged from working with children who required special care, to tutoring middle school aged sisters who required special needs support, and being a peer mentor working with two young women on how to navigate and build their independence in college. I have learned so much though these wonderful experiences, like the importance of independence, and importance of asking for help. I have taken those lessons into my own life, and now have asked for help when I was previously too afraid to. I am forever grateful, and would love to be a supportive companion/caregiver for individuals with special needs.
