Hello! I am a graduate of the University of Tampa with my BA in Criminology/Criminal Justice. I have my Child Development Associates degree and my certificate for CPR/AED/FA. I have experience working with children with special needs and children varying many ages from infancy to high school, in the class room environment and in home. I love to work with all kiddos! I was a lead teacher in an after care program for 1st and 2nd graders, an assistant preschool teacher and Nannied/sitting for many years. As well as childcare, I can run errands, pet sit/walk, cook and clean. I am an animal lover! I also drive a very reliable and safe Jeep and have a clean driving record! I look forward to speaking with you!

Abigail instantly became part of our family the moment she started working for us. While I would have loved to keep her forever, we had to let her go because we had to cut back on finances. Abigail nannied for us part-time for about a year. When she started, my daughter was 2.5 and my son was a year old. Her primary responsibilities were to take care of my oldest child and prepare dinner for the family. After Abigail worked a full day at her main job, she would pick up my daughter from preschool, bring her to our house and cook. Abigail would also regularly feed both kids, prepare their lunches for the next day, tidy up the house, bathe the kids, and even take them out to the park or a “play place” on occasion. Abigail was not hired as a chef, but she has a gift for cooking. My son and I have several dietary restrictions, which makes mealtime very challenging. This was a huge stressor for several reasons, but mainly because it forced us to cook every meal. With my work schedule it was practically impossible to do this, so Abigail helped tremendously to ensure we had solid meals every night. Of Abigail strengths—and there are many—I particularly want to highlight her consistent can-do attitude. To me, attitude is everything. Even on the days Abigail was exhausted, whether it be from poor sleep or from the demands of her main job or something else, she would always show up 100% with her positive attitude and attentiveness. I could always count on Abigail to immediately tend to my children the second they cried or needed something (like a tissue to wipe a snotty nose, or diaper change, or hug for comfort). Abigail would even anticipate my own needs. She has incredible awareness and initiative. I’m a firm believer in Gentle Parenting, and Abigail is fully versed and experienced with these methods. Gentle parenting takes incredible patience and empathy – both of which come naturally to Abigail. I believe she truly understands what it takes to help children develop confidence, independence, self-esteem, and strong emotion regulation skills. Let me tell you, it is an amazing feeling to have such confidence in someone else taking care of the things that matter most in this world – my children and my home. I was always so grateful that Abigail rarely placed the kids in front of a screen, was never distracted with social media, texting, or phone calls, and was wonderful at being present and engaged in playtime. Aside from my husband, I trust Abigail with my children more than any other friend or family member. I felt she was an extension of myself.
