About Abi

I have years of hands-on caregiving experience. I think it makes me a great fit for working with kids. I'm finishing my B. S. in Early Childhood & Elementary Education , with a minor in Psychology, As a Teacher's Aide, I supported kids ages Birth - Middle School aged in a structured classroom, helping with behavior redirection and one-on-one attention. I helped them build routines and work through tough moments like transitions and meltdowns, while keeping things consistent day to day. As a Direct Support Professional, I've also built strong skills in patience, structure, and calm de-escalation, things that matter just as much with kids as adults. I'm good at breaking things down into simple steps so kids don't feel overwhelmed, and I adjust based on what each child needs. I'm big on building real trust, not just managing behavior. I check in, stay consistent, and get to know them. I'm BLS certified and hold a NYS Level 1 Teacher's Assistant Certification.
