About Abby

I'd describe my personality as dependable, understanding, and attentive I like working with kids because the most important mentors from my youth were my babysitters and camp counselors, and to be that for another child is very fulfilling. I'm looking for a job that is built on mutual respect and trust. I have spent the past 4 years working with kids ages 1-14 both in schools and at summer camps. In my spare time, I love to do various crafts like jewelry making & crocheting. I also love to spend time in nature and go on hikes or long walks. One thing you should know about me is my approach to working with children is to lead with curiosity. Approaching with curiosity is the key to responding thoughtfully to a difficult situation rather than reacting and making the situation worse. My skills include creating teachable moments out of regular activities, helping kids come up with creative yet fun ways to spend their time and energy, and conflict resolution between children.
