About Abbie

I like working with kids because they can teach you so much about playing and letting loose. They give you a new perspective! I started working with kids when I was about 12 which is when I first started babysitting. Throughout my high school years I would work with kids with disabilities at my school and I continue that work as a substitute teacher! One thing you should know about me is that I absolutely love music! I study musical theatre at the Manhattan School of Music and love singing and dancing. Whenever I'm working with kids I always put on music in the background (my favorites are Raphie and Disney)! My skills include having multiple strategies since every kid is different it's always good to have multiple approaches to situations. I'm also very good at building and keeping a schedule, I love using visuals for that! My third skill is that I'm a very empathetic person, so if a child is feeling any kind of "big" emotions I'm good at getting on their level to solve the problem!
