About Abbey

My experience with childcare began when I was 12 and started babysitting for friends and family. As a teenager I was hired to be a full-time summer nanny for a local family and worked with them for 3 years. I have worked as a nanny off and on for the past 5 years. Most recently, I worked for a family with 3 children- 2 teenage girls and an infant with Downs Syndrome. I am also a social worker and have been working in the field for the last 10 years, primarily with children. I have a wealth of experience with kids experiencing trauma, learning difficulties, and kids with developmental delays and disabilities. I have a 5-year-old stepdaughter. In my spare time, I like to practice yoga, cook, create art, and spend time outside. I work hard to bond with the kids in my care. It's very important to me that all kids feel heard, understood, and safe. My skills include managing busy schedules, creating engaging and fun activities, and helping kids explore their environments and interests.
