About Aarika

I recently relocated from Ohio to Fairview Heights, Illinois, bringing with me a lifelong dedication to supporting children and families. As the oldest of seven children (ranging down to age six!) and an army baby, patience and caregiving are practically in my DNA. I started my own babysitting business at age 12, which eventually grew into a rewarding career including two full-time nanny roles and extensive part-time care for my community. My passion for youth development led me to study child education, child psychology, and fine art in college. Most recently, I experienced the greatest joy of my life having custody of my amazing8-year-old nephew, who is now back with his mother and thriving in his senior year. Today, I channels this love into my role as a Youth Counselor for Youth and Family Services. From art therapy, arts and crafts to outdoor adventures, I love creating fun, educational experiences for kids and am excited to bring my experience and heart to your family.
