A busy, active, and always-on-the-go family in Arlington, VA is seeking a proactive and positive career nanny with a gentle parenting style to care for their four children - ages 7 years, 5 years, 3 years, and 7 months.
Their curious and creative 7-year-old son loves cooking, building legos, and riding his bike. He thrives when reinforced on learning strategies tailored toward his dyslexia and ADHD. Their 5-year-old daughter is spunky and sweet. She likes playing with her dolls and dressing up. Their happy-go-lucky three-year old son is always smiling and he adores playing with his big sister. The youngest of the bunch is their 7-month-old son and he is easy-going and is all about snuggling. They love doing fun, engaging activities and traveling together as a family.
This role is suitable for candidates with a "can-do" attitude, are experienced with special needs (dyslexia/anxiety/ADHD), and are looking for a family to commit to long term. They must be willing to work exclusively with this family to protect immunocompromised family members. They are looking for a candidate who is genuinely compassionate, knows what each child likes and plans activities accordingly, and whose true calling is childcare.
Responsibilities include all aspects of child care. Some light housekeeping, laundry, errands required if needed during the week and will be much appreciated on weekends when the parents are with the children. During the afternoons/evenings the candidate will care for the children when they come home from school: prepare snacks, help with homework, supervise playtime, drive to/from activities, cook dinner, clean-up after dinner, assist with bedtime routine. Mom and/or Dad will also be around for a majority of the shift. Ideal candidate will enjoy cooking healthy meals & snacks that the kids enjoy. The candidate must be trustworthy, consistent, structured, and caring. Quarterly travel will be requested in advanced and appreciated. Two of the trips will be with the family and two of the trips the parents will take on their own, while the nanny will stay home with the children, overnight. In order for the candidate to be covered by the family's auto insurance carrier, candidate must be at least 26 years of age.
Qualifications:
3 years of professional childcare experience
High School Diploma
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Valid driver's license
Clean driving record
Comfort driving children in family vehicle
At least 26 years of age (in order be covered under the auto insurance policy)
Experience with children with special needs
Experience with multiple children
COVID-19 vaccine required
Willingness to work exclusively with this family
Schedule:
The schedule is full-time, guaranteeing 44.5 hours/per week. The general schedule will fall on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 2pm and 8:30pm and Sundays between 8am and 8pm.
Compensation:
The family is offering $35-$40/hour, based on 44.5 hours/week, which equates to up to $1,630 - $1,870/week, and an annualized base compensation package of up to $97,240K/year. This position is paid legally, on a W2, subject to regular deductions and withholdings as required by law.
All rates are commensurate with experience, credentials, longevity with past employers, and level of completed education.

This is a total compensation package of up to $102K+/year (not including relocation assistance).
