About who needs care: My mother is healthy and mobile. She has trouble getting her compression socks on at times. She was recently diagnosed with dementia is somewhere between Stage 3 and 4. She gets frustrated and stressed when she cannot remember things. She does have trouble speaking/finishing sentences and sometimes uses wrong words for what she means, but I still find her often easy to understand.
Hobbies: Gardening, reading, movies, walking and she use to love to sew and take IFAS plant classes but has not in a few years. She was an RN in her career.
She needs help organizing her home, light housecleaning, and a companion. She gets lonely. She has a wonderful neighbor across the street, but he has an ill wife and his own life so he cannot keep her company all the time.
About the care needs: Mom needs an intelligent, experienced, kind, warm- hearted and patient woman. Someone who likes to be social, but also enjoys being home. It would be great if they do not mind light housekeeping and helping her get organized in a very patient manner. They also must love cats. Mom has an older one who is her companion. It would be great if they have an interest in plants and light gardening. Mom has a yard guy, but she loves to get out in the yard (a little). She loves flowers and it would be something they could have in common.
Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
