Part Time
About who needs care: My husband, Joe, has poor balance and needs a walker all the time. He also has dementia. He is confused and forgetful. Sometimes he hears and sees things. He sleeps most of the day. We have two small dogs, which he adores. He likes to take them for walks but must be accompanied and use his walker. His personality is pleasant, but he can be stubborn. He does sudoku puzzles. His days can vary. For example, he might sleep to 11 a.m. or later or arise at 8 a.m. At any rate, he usually sleeps during the day or sits in his recliner and watches TV. He has very poor hearing and must wear his hearing aides as much as he can. He can wear them to bed during naps. I need to talk to the caregiver about his hearing aides.
About the care needs: The ideal caregiver needs to be patient, caring, and reliable. The caregiver should like dogs. The one dog, Kojie, barks at strangers but does not bite. I have a bark collar, and I will show the caregiver how to use it. The female dog, Izzy, is very sweet.
