Full Time
About who needs care: Parkinson's disease. Needs to be encouraged to exercise (stationary bike in home). Assistance with remembering medications on time. Assistance with a bathroom catheter and getting to the shower. Assistance getting dressed. My step mother is usually his primary care but she works from home and I'm afraid of burn out. Mostly because my dad (patient) ends up sleeping a lot and watching a lot of TV instead of doing things. He enjoys outdoors it's just difficult for him to navigate even with his walker.. he also enjoys his little project room but has less and less motivation for it. He loves his grand babies as well. The more activity and interaction he has with people and doing things the more perked up he seems to be.
About the care needs: Adaptable flexible and patient person. Dad is very mellow but he doesn't hear very well. My step mom is also a bit overprotective and may try to protest your care. Be firm about providing healthy care for dad but not to the point it stresses him out too much.
Caregiver needs to know and understand all of his medications as well has be skilled with assistance for a bathroom catheter. They also need to have some personal physical strength bc Dad is very tall and needs help standing up from a chair and bed.
It would be helpful if the Caregiver had interests in country like things. Outdoorsy hunting and hiking kind of stuff.
Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
