Our family values open communication and mutual respect between parents, caregivers, and kids. We do our best and say sorry. We validate when things are hard while also finding the good whenever we can. We like playing outside, science experiments, reading, and baking.
The kids love robotics, art, video games, and anything outdoors, especially riding bikes. They love nature documentaries, imagination games, and board games.
The kids need support through a big transition with moving to a new state and me starting to work full time after a divorce.
I'm looking for someone who can be compassionate, understanding, relatable, and kind. I want my parenting style matched as closely as possible. I care much more about understanding what's driving a child's behavior than a consequence for it. I'd like a caregiver with the same mentality. I don't support timeout, shaming, spanking, or manipulation with rewards. I like to work on routine, connection, and natural consequences. While I am understanding, I'm also firm and have strong boundaries. I'd like these qualities in a caregiver as well.
My home has parking, I'd prefer a caregiver with safe transportation for kids.
We have two outdoor cats, a bunny, and a dog. The dog is an older golden retriever and is so sweet. The cats are also sweet.
