Your student is a bright, creative and fun first grader who needs in-person enrichment tutoring in math. He LOVES math and logic and has strong interest and aptitude for them. He is bored and under-stimulated at school, and they cannot provide the differentiated learning he needs. It would also be great to do some reading and writing / spelling practice, if possible. (Bonus if you can help him with Spanish!) He loves to learn using manipulatives, doing projects, and figuring out problems based on his interests in things like storytelling, science and sports. He likes using a variety of materials. He likes to have space to do things independently and to try again with guidance if he can't get it the first time.

We are looking for a tutor to come to our home to teach our first grader in-person on Mon Tue Thurs and Fri from 8 a.m. to noon. We are following the home school curriculum "BookShark" which is very straightforward and all curriculum work is already outlined with teaching points and answers. We are looking for a tutor for 1- 1/2 hours per afternoon, 2 - 3 days per week, either at our home, nearby Jackson/Zeeb intersection or downtown Ann Arbor. My son is a bright, personable 11-year-old, who is looking to catch up from the "lost" year of virtual school. We are looking for a tutor primarily in Math, but also English, and writing assignments for other classes. Best candidates will be those who can help to teach organizational and study/preparation skills have knowledge and experience with dyslexic. learning style.
